Play Dot Apparel is 2 years old today!

Happy Birthday Play Dot! It seems like yesterday when the first batch of PDA caps landed and we first entered urban outlets around the UK. We are very proud to announce that December 2009 marks PDA's two year anniversary! Its taken a lot of hardwork and grinding to get PDA off the ground but its all been worth it. When your driving around town and spot people on road from head to toe in PDA its a great feeling. PDA is growing, thanks to all the supporters we'd be nowhere without you.

Special shouts out to my PDA team, very important people to the play dot movement. We're not just a clothing label we're a family. We've been through alot in a short space of time and we'd not have made it this far without you.

New Game Over Range!

November 2009 has seen the release of the game over range, the latest variation of the skitz range. The range compromises of new winter woolly hats, fully embroided badges and glow in the dark prints. Perfect for all those who want to stand out from the crowd. Play Dot Apparel in Rewind Mag!

The latest edition of Rwd mag saw the Infra Red crew from battersea south London sporting the bast in PDA for their mag interview. The feature was a good look for Infra red Crew and PDA giving us both much needed exposure in a mainstream mag.

Infra red are a popular UK grime/hip hop act who made their name on pirate radio station Delight FM. They are currently involved in the Open Mic 2009 competition with £20,000 and links with top industry people up for grabs.

Now through to final stages of competiton, everyone show support and text Open33 to 86222.

Skitz Range Expanded!

The response for PDA'S latest range, Skitz, has been phenonmenal and its popularity continues to grow. The popular skitz range continues to expand with colourful designs now on polo t-shirts, rugby shirts and cardigans. We hope to launch this more smart casual addition to the range early next year so keep your eyes peeled!

Memphis Bleek Joins The Play Dot Movement

There have been a number of comedians, celebrities and music artists supporting the Play Dot movement. The most recent addition is Jay Z's right hand man Memphis bleek. Play Dot have met up with the star numerous times and each time he comes to the UK he shows the brand the upmost support. Shouts out to Bleek and Young Sef for reppin to the fullest!

Voice Newspaper Interview Play Dot's Founders

Play Dot has created such a buzz within the UK clothing industry that we were contacted by the Voice Newspaper to do a mini feature. We let the Voice into the ins and outs of how PDA is run and the plans for the future. Surprised at how fast PDA has grown the voice were very supportive and interested in lining up future projects to give us more mainstream exposure.

It was a good feature and a sign more people are taking note of the rising brand that is Play Dot Apparel. Thanks to all who have made PDA what it is today, we're definately on a rise.

DL records contacted us saying that they have heard that the qaulity of our caps where the best about! lol :-D and wanted to know if it was possible to bring out a hood economics range, and anything is possible with playdot! ( i like dat slogan might have 2 use it lol ) we whent ahead with the collab and once again it turned out a hit. Not only are the hats serious but the brand has one of the uk's most respected music artists pushing it, (Tinie Tempah) as seen ubove sporting the gold text on black cap. you can find these hats in many urban outlets like global sports which is located in shepards bush market.

TERRATAG X PLAYDOT FITTED CAP COLLAB!!!!

Apart from our apparel line, we are also known for doing high quality fitted caps, and yes they are our own brand. We teamed up with the great lads down at terratag to come up with a way to boost promo and maximize sales for them, and came up with an agreement of doing a fitted cap collab. This is terratags first cap based on the pinchu range named stars and bolts! i no sounds cool! lol but if you havnt got 1 already go and get 1!!! there flying fast and can be ordered off there web site www.terratag.com. weve done many more collabs with other music artists and other clothing labels and have many more to come! so watch out for us.

R.I.P CHARMZ AKA CARL

Im sad to say that in the early hours of saturday the 1st of Augest, my good friend Chamz sadly passed away. The cause of death was a fatal stab wound to the heart which left him in a critial state. He later on was pronounced dead which has become a big shock to every 1, charms became a big part of my life through my clothing and wouldnt rest till i said i would sponser him and give him a t shirt lol how ironic is it that i tried 2 call him at 2 in the morning to confirm that we where still gonna meet up on the saturday (the day of his death) but was only welcomed by a voicemail answer phone. Charmz truely was a comic and found it easy to get along with AAAAAAAAAANY BODY!! which added to his character and persuasive ways. Carl realy was a young and talented man who had great things in store for him in life but sadly all has been cut short, you will truely be missed by all ur friends and family and may all your true friends look over your family. so people please pay your respects the best way you can and show some respect to a great man! R.I.P fam will miss you and untill we meet again on judgement day i pray that people learn from your downfall. c ya darg.....

So iv been told that i photoshoped this pic! looooool aaaaaaaaahahahaha well lets clear the air! first of all if i had done that and used it for promo use im pretty sure i would have been down to my knees in law suits lol but this is how i got this pic.
when lil wayne was down in london doing his concert in stratford he was also on 1xtra's tim westwood show, me and ma business partner kwasi where waiting for other uk based artists to come out but 2 OUR SURPRISE who did we see!!? LIL WAYNE! he requested one if the hats and a friend of ours named lewis who works at 1 xtra gave it 2 him and 2 our surprise he instantly put it on which was the perfect opertunity to snap him in motion! so if u still dont beleive, gimme a call and ill show u the picture on my digital cam, lol thats the levels iv had to resort to! looool you see what i do for you lot lol

i wanna take time out to show some love 2 jazzie aka jay weazy from the jazzie show on channel aka. This guy has shown the brand the most support ever and has been been spotted all over the uk reprasenting the line. Incase u didnt no, he's 1 of the most requested comedians/hosts to hit scene. Coming out of south west london jazzie has gained respect and a reputation for being a lively outgoing comic with a bubbly personality, jazzie has opened up for a number of global artists such as flow rider and the game, he still has alot to learn about the industry he is in but im sure will find his feet soon enough and make history for london! jazzie, Playdot have got you all the way so keep doing your thing bro!

THE MEN BEHIND IT ALL!!

Play.Dot Apparel was launched December 2007 in stores around London and Brighton. The company was founded by Kwasi Boateng and Kenny Annan-Johnathan. They both lived and grew up in Battersea, South London all their lives. They have both always had a passion for fashion, from dressing right through to designing. So it was inevitable that the ideas that brought about Play.Dot Apparel would one day come to life.

Kwasi had been working for a few designers prior to the launch, and Kenny's ideas fitted so well with what Kwasi wanted to achieve with the clothing. Play.Dot launched with great success in over 15 outlets and online stores. Over the last year, Play.Dot has sold hundreds of caps and collaborated with many reputable UK clothing labels.

The future looks bright with the launch of their brand new 'skitz' range at the fore front of their plans. The unique jumper and cap combo has had fantastic response so far and they hope to continue its success with new colours and variety.
